Kellcyn's first visit to Dr. Amy's office for her "two week" check-up went well. As you can see, she wasn't a big fan of not having any clothes on...she definitely likes to be warm! Kellcyn weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces, which is a little less than her birth weight. At this point she should be back to right at her birth weight, so Dr. Amy just wants us to swing by sometime next week for a "weight check". We're not too concerned. She definitely has a handle on the eating thing! She's got some tiny red bumps in various places on her body, which Dr. Amy attributes to allergies/sensitive skin.
KB's cute outfit is courtesy of Auntie Patty, Unkie Matt, and Atticus!
Emiley is so sweet to her sister (when she's paying attention to her).
These little socks kill me! So cute....and pictures on baby butts? Adorable!

Kellcyn Brooke and I have been hanging out at home the last couple of days, and just running some errands. KB had some friends over on Saturday (Madison, Gwen, Caleb - and their parents). She wasn't the best host...slept most of the time, silly thing!
Sunday we all went to church (K slept through the whole thing...are you noticing a trend?), did some shopping in Vincennes, then went to visit Nan, Gramps, and Unkie Jake.
We had our first "rough night" the night before last (of course, the night Daddy needed to get up the next morning at 4 for work)...KB was waking up frequently, crying. Her paci did the trick for a while, then she would lose it, and wake up and cry again. She can sleep all day long and never want her paci, but there just must be something about night time that makes her want the thing. She was being little miss bright eyes that night too, just wanting to look around instead of sleep.
Last night was back to the usual though, just waking up when she was ready to eat, which she does every 3-5 1/2 hours. Definitely still not on a schedule as far as eating goes, but generally is eating about 15-18 ounces of formula a day, which is just about right.
The remaining part of K's umbilical cord fell off at 8 days, which I thought was a little early, and her belly button looked a little gooey for a day or so, but it looks like it's doing okay now. She got her first real bath yesterday, which she hated.
We'll be going to see Dr. Amy this afternoon for the first time for the "two week" check up. I'm sure Kellcyn will love Dr. Amy as much as her big sister does!
A.little.bit.un.happy...
(I love this one!)
Em says "Dis is my bes frien, Kellcyn"...I hope that they always will be.
Finally a good picture with her eyes open! She's starting to be more alert and keep her eyes open more often, but she still sleeps an awful lot!
Madison and Gwen came by to play on Saturday.
Madison (4 1/2), Em (2 1/2), Gwen (5 months), Kellcyn (1 week)...Cousins and friends always!
I'm sure these two will be the best of friends growing up! They are exactly 5 months apart, and will be in the same grade in school (although probably different schools :( )
First bath. Dislike.
This puppy came from sweet Ms Sam at church! Em got a puppy (a husky) from Sam when she was born too! We love Sam!!
Sweet, sweet baby girl!

Well, we're home!
I haven't updated in a few days (things are a little busier!)
Saturday morning, the nurse brought Kellcyn into my room about 9 and she was ng tube-free and they said that she'd eaten pretty well over the night, though she was spitting up quite a bit. She continued to spit up pretty frequently through the day Saturday, and didn't eat too much, so Saturday night, we switched her to the "gentle" formula, and she slowed down on the spitting up quite a bit! Thank goodness!
We had lots of visitors in the hospital Saturday, and Sunday Kellcyn got checked out by Dr. Porter and was given the go ahead to come home! we left the hospital around 2 on Sunday and headed home! Big sis came home, and we had some visitors. Our first night at home went really smoothly. Kellcyn woke up to eat a few times through the night, but slept very well.
Monday we had a busy day, doing some running to get some errands done. Kellcyn had her first visits to Wal-Mart and MiPueblo...gotta start her off right. We're at both of those places quite a bit. Night two was just as good as night number one. We've got a pretty good sleeper so far. Kellcyn is pretty good natured, but really does NOT like her diaper changed.
Tuesday we had to do a little bit more running around, including going to dance class.
Today, we've just stayed at home to rest! Kellcyn is still doing great! Almost no spitting up at all! She's up to eating right about 2 ounces of formula every 3-5 hours. She started out eating just a little less than an ounce every 3-4 hours, so we're glad she's finally getting the hang of the eating thing!
